CLASS MEETING

To view recordings of previous meetings, locate the appropriate session from this list:

COLLABORATIVE VIDEO PROJECT (CVP)
Prepare your team to respond to the following during our joint meeting with the Kansai students:
  • What did you learn?
  • What were successes?
  • What were challenges?
  • What recommendations do you have for future classes?

Prior to our class meeting, review all posted team videos (six teams). Individually, post comments about each of the other videos in reply to the posted link in our Google+ CVP community.

Since the Japanese students are non-English speakers, post 1-2 brief paragraphs that address the quality and relevance of each team's video. Write simply. Avoid slang or jargon.

TEAM ASSIGNMENT #3 : PINTEREST
Complete your Pinterest pinboard(s). Post link(s) for your deliverables on our SM4Ed Facebook group with a short intro that is 25 words or less. Be sure to include your team name and members on the Facebook post.

Next week, complete peer reviews of the work of two other teams. An assigned list of reviews will be posted.

CONTENT CURATION : LISTS
In preparation for the final project to begin next week, explore Listly, a list curation tool. Create a curated list of 5-7 mindmapping (a.k.a. concept mapping) tools.

Prior to preparing your list, review the articles:

Kanter, B. (2011, July 11). Content curation primer. Retrieved from http://www.bethkanter.org/content-curation-101/

Roos, K. (2014, March). Online curation-tools for active learning. Retrieved from https://storify.com/kroos/curationtools4edu

Waters, S. (2014, June 12). Curation: Creatively filtering content. Retrieved from http://www.theedublogger.com/2014/06/12/curation/

Create your list applying the FACETS process described by Roos (in above list). Edit your list descriptions so that others in this class will find them useful.

Share your list through a tweet (#642fa) and also post the link on the SM4Ed Facebook page with a one-sentence lead-in description.

Review the lists posted by others. Commenting is optional. If done, you will receive "style points" for your participation in this class.

WEEK 12 BLOG POST
Critique the FACETS process for curation. Is it good? Useful? Helpful? Is anything missing, or is it too detailed? Why? How credible is the author?
